Day 4 – Legal English in Litigation and Court Submissions
- Phrases used in court submissions (it is respectfully submitted that…)
- Style of pleadings: written submissions, affidavits, prayers
- Language of judgments and court orders
Day 5 – Advanced Legal Writing & Editing
- Avoiding common mistakes: redundancy, vagueness, legalese
- Advanced sentence crafting: conditionals, qualifiers, consistent tone
- Spotting and fixing common drafting mistakes (vague terms, repetition, inconsistent tone)
