About KLE Society

Karnataka Lingayat Education (KLE) Society was established on November 13th, 1916, in the form of an Anglo-Vernacular School. At present, there are 296 educational institutions with a total student strength of 138000 and staff strength of 18000 in diverse faculties like Arts, Science, Commerce, Medicine, Engineering, Dental, Pharmacy, Architecture, Law, Nursing, Ayurveda, Management, Information Technology and Computer Science.

These institutions spread across unknown rural areas to well-known cities, are at par excellence in infrastructure with a high-quality education which are accepted with wide acclaim by members of society and approved by NAAC/Universities/NAB, etc.

About KLE Law College, Navi Mumbai

KLE College of Law, Navi Mumbai, was started in the year 2016-17 under the aegis of the Karnataka Lingayat Education Society. The Institution started with an ambition to impart legal education, which is in fact a very important step towards spreading awareness and empowering the helpless in society.

The College is affiliated to the University of Mumbai, and recognized by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi. It conducts LL.B. (Three Years) & B.A. LL.B. (Five Years) Courses. The College also provides Certificate Courses in Cyber Law, Intellectual Property Rights, Human Rights, and English Language.

The College is pleased to announce a National Legislative Drafting Competition to be conducted purely online.

Objectives

  1. To foster Legal Innovation and Policy Reform  for addressing legal and social issues
  2. To enhance understanding complex legal challenges
  3. To identify and bridge gaps in existing legislations
  4. To encourage practical legal drafting skills
  5. To inspire policy-oriented legal thinking

Concept Note

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming economies, governance, and social interactions—but it also presents novel vectors for crime. From deepfakes and AI-generated fraud to autonomous systems circumventing legal responsibility, current laws struggle to keep pace with technological innovation. This legislation drafting competition challenges participants to think as future lawmakers: to craft policy responses that are anticipatory, rights-based, and internationally harmonized. Let your draft contribute to a legal architecture that protects innovation while defending justice in the digital era.

Suggested Topics To Be Covered:

  4. AI-Enabled Crime
  5. Regulations Of AI Systems
  6. Definition And Categorisation Of AI-Related Crimes

The participants are encouraged to decide the area(s) of crimes their Bill will cover and name the Bill accordingly.

Submission Guidelines

  1. The Bill must be submitted by email to [email protected], with subject: Bill Submission for National Legislative Drafting Competition.
  2. Submissions must be of minimum 10 pages and maximum 25 pages.
  3. Font: Times New Roman, Size 12, 1.5 spacing, justified.
  4. Up to 2 co-authors will be permitted. Both authors must register and pay separately.
  5. The Bill will undergo a thorough AI and Plagiarism check, to ensure the submissions are original. Plagiarism is permitted only up to 30%.
  6. The decision of the organizing committee shall be final and binding regarding the submission acceptance or rejection of Bills and the prize winners.

  • 2ND– Rs. 3,000/-
  • 3RD– Rs. 2,000/-
