About the Ministry of Women and Child Development
The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), under the Government of India, serves as the principal authority for framing and overseeing laws, regulations, and policies related to the development and welfare of women and children in the country.
Internship Overview
MWCD invites applications from women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers affiliated with any university or institution—academic or non-academic—under its Internship Programme.
This initiative aims to support those interested in undertaking pilot projects or micro-studies related to the Ministry’s ongoing initiatives. The programme is designed to provide participants with meaningful exposure to the Ministry’s mandate, enabling them to engage in policy analysis and develop the capacity to advocate for women and children’s issues in various forums in the future.
Eligibility Criteria

Open to women applicants from Non-Tier I cities and rural areas of India.

Applicants must be associated with or enrolled in any academic or non-academic institution.

Age group: 21–40 years.
Stipend and Benefits

Selected interns will receive a consolidated stipend of ₹20,000 per month.

Travel expenses (via deluxe/AC bus or 3-tier AC train) for joining and returning from the programme will be reimbursed.

Shared hostel accommodation will be provided in Delhi for the duration of the internship.
Duration and Terms
The programme is conducted in four batches during the financial year:

Up to 20 interns will be selected for each batch.
Application Deadline
The last date to apply for the upcoming August–September batch is June 10.
Applications must be submitted between the 1st and 10th of the month, two months before the intended batch (e.g., March 1–10 for May–June, June 1–10 for August–September, etc.).
Application Process
Applicants must submit their applications online through the Internship Programme portal of the Ministry.
Note: A candidate selected for one term will not be eligible to apply for subsequent terms.
