The petitioners pray for a direction upon the Registrar of

Assurances,Kolkata to take steps in terms of Section 47A(3) of the Indian

Stamp Act, 1899. The document presented for registration is annexed at

pages 45 to 70 of the writ petition.

2. The Registrar of Assurances, Kolkata and the Additional Registrar of

Assurances-II, Kolkata have forwarded a report to this Court signed on 25 th

August, 2025 admitting that the aforesaid document was presented for

registration. The report is taken on record.

3. In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the

Registrar of Assurances, Kolkata to take steps in terms of provision of

Section 47A of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 at the earliest, but positively

within a period of twelve weeks from the date of communication of this

order. A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the parties

immediately thereafter.

4. It is made clear that in the instant writ petition only the prayer of the

petitioners regarding consideration of the prayer of the petitioners under

Section 47A is being dealt with and all other points are left open to be

agitated by the petitioners as and when required.

5. The writ petition stands disposed of.

6. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to

the parties upon compliance of all legal formalities.
