Research Associate/Research Assistant at IIM Lucknow

Project Details

One Research Associate and one Research Assistant are required for field data collection and interaction with multiple stakeholders for a research project titled ‘Platform cooperatives and knowledge Commons: Synthesis, framework, and findings from case studies’ undertaken by the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow.

This study is pan-India based, and therefore, the recruited Research Associate and Research Assistant will have to travel extensively for data collection from different stakeholders of focal organizations.

Posts, Salary, and Qualification

• Research Associate (one) – up to 12 months.
  • Salary: ₹30,000 to ₹36,000/- (consolidated) per month.
  • Qualification: Post-graduation (MA/MSc) in Economic geography/ Economics/ Sociology/ Development Studies/ Management/ Rural Development/ Digital Humanities/ Computational Social Science and allied specialization in Humanities and Social Sciences with at least one/two years of experience.
• Research Assistant (one) – up to six (6) months.
  • Salary: ₹25,000-₹30,000/- (consolidated) per month.
  • Qualification: Graduation in Economics/ Humanities and Social Sciences/ Sociology/ Economic geography with at least one year of experience.

Job Description

• Conduct surveys, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions with the stakeholders of focal organizations.
• Data collection, transcription and translation, data entry, and analysis using coding software (NVivo, Atlas, Maxqda).
• Expenses for travel and stay will be paid for data collection and field visits per the institution’s seed money project policy.

Desirable Skills and Experiences

Preference will be given to a candidate with experience in field surveys and interviews of cooperative organizations, civil society, or community-based organizations in various parts of India. Previous experience of working on qualitative research projects focused on rural India will be an added advantage.
