1. Impugned in the instant petition, filed under the provisions of Article
226 of the Constitution of India, is the order of detention bearing No.
PSA 29/2024 dated 03.09.2024 issued by the respondent No. 2, i.e.,
District Magistrate, Jammu (hereinafter referred to as the detaining
authority for short), in exercise of its powers vested under Section
8(1)(a)(ii) of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act, 1978
(hereinafter referred to as the PSA for short), whereby, the petitioner-
detenu has been ordered to be detained with a view to prevent him
from acting in any manner pre-judicial to the maintenance of the
public order for a period to be decided by the Government and
detained immediately in Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal.
