1. Impugned in the instant petition, filed on behalf of the
petitioner/detenu, under the provisions of Article 226 of the Constitution
of India, is the order of detention bearing No. DMS/PSA/35/2024 dated
18.11.2024, issued by the respondent No. 2 i.e. District Magistrate,
Srinagar (hereinafter referred to as the Detaining Authority for short), in
exercise of its powers vested under Section 8 (4) of the Jammu and
Kashmir Public Safety Act, 1978 (hereinafter referred to as PSA for
short) whereby the petitioner/detenu was ordered to be detained and
lodged in the Central Jail, Kotebalwal for a period to be specified by the
Government, with a view to prevent him from acting in any manner
prejudicial to the security of the State.
