1. The present criminal appeal filed under Section 418 of the Bharatiya
Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (formerly Section 377 of the Code of
Criminal Procedure, 1973) seeks enhancement of the sentences awarded by
the Additional Sessions Judge-04, North, Rohini Courts, Delhi, vide order
on sentence dated 18th January, 2020. By judgment dated 16th January, 2020,
the Respondents were convicted for offences punishable under Sections
186/353/332/333/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.1 In addition,
Respondent No. 1 (Jitender) was convicted under Section 224 IPC, while
Respondents No. 2 (Gajender) and No. 3 (Luxmi) were also convicted under
Section 225 IPC. These proceedings arose out of FIR No. 184/2016,
registered at P.S. Jahangir Puri under Sections 186/332/353/506/34 IPC.
