This reference in terms of Section 374 Cr.PC has been made by
Presiding Officer, Fast Track Court, Kulgam, for confirmation of life
sentence awarded to the respondents in case FIR No. 214 of 2010 registered
with Police Station, Qazigund, for the offences under Sections 452, 307, 326
and 34 RPC.
The respondents have been sentenced to three years imprisonment
each against the offence under Sections 307 RPC, 452 RPC and 326 RPC
along with fine of Rs.7.50 lacs, Rs.5.00 lacs and Rs.5.00 lacs respectively
and in default of payment of fine, the term of imprisonment was ordered to
be life imprisonment for the offence under Section 307 RPC; seven years
rigorous imprisonment for offence under Section 452 RPC; and five years
rigorous imprisonment for offence under Section 326 RPC.
