2. Petitioner challenges the judgment and order dated

15.01.2025 in CRA-D-475-DB-2005 (O&M) passed by the High

Court of Punjab & Haryana at Chandigarh, titled “Darshan

Singh & Ors. vs. State of Punjab”.

3. Learned counsel for the appellant, under

instructions, submits that the appellant does not intend

to challenge the judgment of conviction under Section

304-B of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (for short, IPC);

the limited challenge in this appeal is confined to the

quantum of sentence, primarily on the basis that the

similarly situated co-accused, who stood convicted for

the very same offence, were sentence only for a period of

seven years, whereas the instant appellant is awarded

sentence for a period of ten years.
