Trilegal, as the sole counsel, successfully represented GMR Airports Limited (“GMR”) and Delhi International Airport Limited (“DIAL”) before the Competition Commission of India (“CCI”). Through an order dated 20 March 2025, CCI closed the matter at the threshold stage and held that there was not even a prima facie case of violation of Indian competition law by DIAL (or GMR) necessary for the direction of the investigation.

Based on the submissions filed by Trilegal on behalf of GMR and DIAL, the CCI noted that provisions of the concession agreement and held that DIAL had awarded contracts based on competitive bidding, without favouring GMR group as had been alleged by the informants. Additionally, the CCI noted that the charges levied by DIAL were uniform and the rate was prevalent before DIAL and had remained unchanged. The CCI also rejected the prayer for interim relief.

In October 2024, Trilegal also represented GMR and DIAL before the High Court of Delhi in a writ petition filed by the informants seeking expeditious disposal of the CCI matter. Trilegal team engaged Rajiv Nayar, Senior Advocate, and the writ petition was dismissed at the stage of admission.
