Present Mr. N. Jotendro, learned senior counsel assisted by Md. Syed
Murtaza Ahmed, learned counsel on behalf of the petitioners and
Mr. Th. Monish, learned counsel for the respondent.
During the course of hearing, Mr. Th. Monish, learned counsel for the
respondent, informed this Court that the respondent, Administrative Officer
(Power), Electricity Department, Manipur, issued an Office Order No. 20
dated 28-11-2024 whereby the direction of the order dated 13-06-2024
passed by this Court in WP(C) No. 395 of 2024 has already been complied
with by disposing of the case of 208 Assistant Linemen in EDM for promotion
to the post of Lineman. It is submitted that the contempt case can be closed.
However, Mr. N. Jotendro, learned senior counsel for the petitioners,
submits that the list of 208 Assistant Linemen in EDM who are considered
for promotion to the post of Lineman has not been furnished to the
petitioners.
Accordingly, the contempt case is closed with a direction to the
respondent to furnish list of 208 Assistant Linemen in EDM who are
considered for promotion to the post of Lineman to the petitioners within a
period of one week.
